Huron Chiefs Clinches Lead In Eighth Inning For Victory Over Lincoln Park

The Chiefs stole the lead late and defeated Lincoln Park 11-7 on Saturday in game 2. The game was tied at seven with Huron batting in the top of the eighth when Jaden Morse singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs.

Huron opened the scoring in the first inning, when Gavin Moczydlowsky singled on a 3-1 count, scoring the first run.

Xavier Elliott started the game for Huron. The lefthander allowed five hits and five runs over three and two-thirds innings, striking out four and walking one

Micah Smith was credited with the victory for the Chiefs. The righty lasted two innings, allowing zero hits and two runs while striking out four. Chad Martin threw two and a third innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Lincoln Park took the lead briefly after scoring 4 runs. Isaac Smith led things off in the 6^th by drawing a walk and Matt Williams launched a 2-run bomb to left field to give the lead back to the Chiefs. The Rails tied things up in the bottom of the 7^th until the Chiefs broke things open by scoring 4 in the 8^th inning.

Huron had 13 hits in the game. Ashton Warren, Jaden Morse, Gavin Moczydlowsky , and Matt Williams each collected multiple hits for the Chiefs. Morse and Warren each collected three hits to lead the Chiefs to victory.
