Six runs in the third inning led the Huron Chiefs past St. Mary Catholic Central 9-1 on Wednesday. The Chiefs put the pressure on, lead by singles by Matt Williams and Jaden Morse and a homerun to left by Ethan Webb.
Huron got things moving in the first inning, when Chase Molnar doubled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run.
Chase Molnar earned the victory on the mound for the Chiefs. The right hander went seven innings, allowing one run on two hits, striking out five and walking one.
The Chiefs had a big day the with bats and racked up 14 hits. Williams, Grunwald, Emelian and Molnar all had multiple hits for the Chiefs. Matt Williams led the way for Huron with three hits in four at bats.
