PIONEER HIGH SCHOOL: 0
The Huron Chiefs defeated Pioneer High School 2-0 in the second game of the double dipper on Thursday as three pitchers combined to throw a shutout.
The pitching was strong on both sides but Thomas McSwain was brilliant in his 3 win of the season. The right hander lasted six and two-thirds innings, allowing one hit and zero runs while striking out five and walking one. McSwain was vying for his 2nd no hitter of the season and lost his no hit bid with 2 outs in the 7th inning. Thomas McSwain has only given up 1 hit in his last 13+ innings of work, striking out 11.
Chase Molnar threw one-third of an inning in relief out of the bullpen to close the door and collect the save for the Chiefs.
Gavin Moczydlowsky led the Chiefs with two hits in three at bats, knocking in the game winner.
