Two Huron Chiefs Varsity Pitchers Combine to Defeat Summit Academy in Shutout Game
Huron Chiefs Varsity defeated Summit Academy 11-0 on Saturday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Chase Molnar induced a groundout from Paul Aune to finish off the game.
Huron Chiefs Varsity secured the victory thanks to seven runs in the sixth inning. Matt Giles, Scott Hinojosa, Molnar, Zach Taylor, and Brent Wright each drove in runs during the inning.
Huron Chiefs Varsity opened up scoring in the first inning. Wright drove in one when he doubled.
Huron Chiefs Varsity put up seven runs in the sixth inning. The rally was led by singles by Hinojosa, Molnar, and Wright, a groundout by Taylor, and an error on a ball put in play by Giles.
One bright spot for Summit Academy was a single by Clayton Durst in the first inning.
