Huron Chiefs Varsity Falls to Jefferson After Sixth Inning Score
Huron Chiefs Varsity lost the lead late in a 6-5 defeat to Jefferson on Friday. The game was tied at four with Jefferson batting in the top of the sixth when Justin Leach singled on a 1-2 count, scoring two runs.
In the first inning, Jefferson got their offense started. Jefferson scored one run when Leach singled.
In the bottom of the fifth inning, Huron Chiefs Varsity tied things up at four when Chase Molnar grounded out, scoring one run.
After Jefferson scored one run in the top of the fourth, Huron Chiefs Varsity answered with one of their own. Huron Chiefs Varsity then answered when an error scored one run for Huron Chiefs Varsity.
Logan Tackett got the start for Jefferson. He lasted two innings, allowing two hits and one run while walking one.
Isaac Yates was on the hill for Huron Chiefs Varsity. He surrendered four runs on seven hits over four innings, striking out four and walking one. Joey DeVita and Sam Hughes entered the game as relief, throwing two innings and one inning respectively.
