Walk-off Seals Win For Bedford Against Huron Chiefs Varsity
It came down to the last play, but Huron Chiefs was on the wrong end of a 6-5 defeat to Bedford on Saturday. The game was tied at five with Bedford batting in the bottom of the eighth when Derek Price's sac fly scored one run for Bedford in the bottom of the 8th inning.
The Chiefs Varsity lost despite out-hitting Bedford 13 to nine.
In the second inning, Bedford got their offense started. Garrett Sexton drove in one when he singled.
The Chiefs knotted the game up at five in the top of the seventh inning. Huron Chiefs Varsity scored one run when Brett Dulecki singled.
Huron Chiefs Varsity scored four runs in the third inning. Huron's big bats in the inning were led by singles by Scott Hinojosa and Frankie Marvaso and a walk by Joey DeVita.
Bedford scored three runs in the sixth inning. Bedford scored its runs on a double by Wesley Matthews.
Jaden Bloomer led the Bedford to victory on the mound. He went two and a third innings, allowing one run on three hits, striking out three and walking zero.
Logan Garland took the loss for The Chiefs. He lasted two and two-thirds innings, allowing two hits and one run while striking out one and walking one.
Rickey Emelian started the game for Huron Chiefs Varsity. He allowed seven hits and five runs over five innings, striking out two and walking one.
