Huron Chiefs Grabs Lead in Fifth Inning to Defeat Monroe High School
Huron took the lead late in the game in a 3-2 victory over Monroe High on Tuesday. The game was tied at one with Monroe High batting in the top of the fifth when the Chiefs pitching walked in a run with bases loaded to give Monroe a 2-1 lead going into the bottom of the 5th. Then the Chiefs answered back with two runs of their own to win the game 3-2
The pitching was strong on both sides. Chiefs pitchers struck out four. Scott Hinojosa got the win for the Chiefs. He surrendered one run on one hit over one inning.
Chase Molnar started the game for the Chiefs. He surrendered on run on five hits over four innings, striking out four and walking one.
Branon Hanson, Rickey Emulian, Issac Yates and Justin Siegel all had one hit to lead the Huron Chiefs.
