Huron Chiefs Clinches Lead in Seventh Inning to Defeat Grosse Ile

Huron Chiefs Varsity nabbed the lead late in the game in a 6-2 victory over Grosse Ile on Friday.  In the top of the 7th inning with two outs Huron was down 2-0 when Garret Dulecki was hit by a pitch and Christian Dioszegi battled a seven pitch walk and Noah Hamilton entered the game to pinch run for Dioszegi. Logan Russell singled to right field to load the bases. Carlos Beltran came to the plate and with two strikes delivered a base hit that tied the game at two scoring Hamilton and Dulecki. Jacob Scroggie and Brett McKay walked loading the bases and B. Wright singled to score Scroggie and McKay.

Steve Nowitzke led the Chiefs to victory on the mound. He lasted six innings, allowig three hits and two runs while striking out seven and walking one. Garret Dulecki threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen. Dulecki recorded the last three outs to earn the save for Huron.

Logan Russell, Brent Wright, Carlos Beltran, Christian Dioszegi (doubled), Vincent Wroblewski and Jakob Scroggie all had one hit to Lead Huron.
