HURON CHIEFS VARSITY CLINGS TO VICTORY AS RIVERVIEW NEARLY ERASES 4-RUN DEFICIT

Huron got out to a four-run lead in the third inning and held on for a 4-3 victory over Riverview on Wednesday. Riverview scored three runs in the failed comeback on a single in the fifth and a groundout in the sixth.

Huron got things moving in the second inning. Brent Wright hit a solo homer. The Chiefs scored three runs in the third inning. The big inning was thanks to singles by Brett McKay, Vincent Wroblewski, and Wright.

Wroblewski was the winning pitcher for Huron. He allowed six hits and three runs over seven innings, striking out eight and walking zero.

Huron racked up 12 hits. Wright, McKay, Logan Russell, Jakob Scroggie, and Wroblewski each managed multiple hits for the Chiefs. Wright went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead the team.

Huron was sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error.
