CHIEFS WIN 1ST STATE TITLE IN BOWLING!!!!!!!
Huron dominated qualifying averaging 198 for 8 baker games and 2 regular games . The Chiefs started slow with 161 & 177 in the baker portion but the averaged 204 in the next 6 baker games. Huron the posted 2 of the only 3 regular games over 1000 in route to a total of 3564 besting Coldwater by 91 pins . The quarterfinal match had Huron bowling the dangerous #8 seed Jackson Northwest. Jackson was a very young team and put up a great fight only to fall 1296-1231. Up next was #5 seed Owosso who was no challenge falling 1323 - 1166. the Chiefs saved the best for the finals and they needed every pin. Long time foe #7 seed Tecumseh was in the path for the 1st State Title in school history. Huron started out strong winning both baker games in impressive fashion 225-183 & 211-138. Leading by 125 heading into the final team game of the year Tecumseh started out strong striking in 12 of the first 15 shots to get close. The boys would not be denied this year they battled all the way and would never give up the lea d winning 1403 - 1352 Zach Taylor shot 247 , Zach Wyszynski, 197 , Drake Bazzy 191 and Sam Hughes 181. Joey DeVita and Ryan Toth split a 151 game. When senior Anthony Wroblewski thew the final shot ( a promise I made him if we won ) of the 2018-2019 and smashed 9 pin the Chiefs were STATE CHAMPIONS!!!!!!!
