Huron Soccer beats Carlson 2-0 in First round of Districts

The Huron Chiefs avenged last year's District final defeat by beating Carlson 2-0 tonight. The score was knotted 0-0 going into halftime with neither team creating much offense. The Chiefs came out in the second half and scored early when an Alexa Yoder pass found the feet of Izzie Pritt. Pritt calmly collected the ball and tucked a shot into the far side of the net for a 1-0 Huron advantage. Pritt secured the win, converting a penalty kick for a 2-0 Huron lead. The Chiefs controlled the second half and nearly had a third but Maggie Warden's shot rang hard off the goalpost. Amelia Strochine earned her 10th shutout of the season.
The Chiefs are now 9-5-3 for the season and will play Allen Park on Friday at 5:00 at Trenton.
