The Huron Chiefs hosted Grosse Ile and were 1-0 victors.  The game stayed scoreless for 73 minutes until an Ava Genzel pass found Ashley Christesen just outside the 18 yard box.  Ashley settled the ball and hit a perfect shot into the upper corner of the net for the game's only goal.  The Chief defense severely limited the Red Devil offense behind the play of Lily Cholette, Megan Scott, Bella Elliott, and Layla Hamilton.  Goaltender, Amelia Strochine picked up the shutout without many forced saves.  The Chiefs are now 4-1-1 for the season, and 3-1-1 in the Huron League.  The Chiefs will host Flat Rock on Friday for another Huron League match-up.

We played a great game tonight for a full 80 minutes against a strong Grosse Ile team.  We knew scoring was going to be at a premium tonight.  We missed on a few chances, putting a couple wide and banging one of the crossbar.  Our midfield and defense played great tonight and controlled the game.  Hopefully we can continue this play and finish a few more of our opportunities against strong opponents.
