LINCOLN HIGH SCHOOL: 0
Division 1 Ypsilanti Lincoln made the trip over to Arrowhead Stadium to roll the dice and see if they could put an end to the Chief’s undefeated season. Huron got rolling early and started playing a fast direct style that at times was too fast. As they began to settle in a bit, The Monroe County Player of The Week, Ian Petrick, started up the scoring. When the smoke cleared, he netted 6 goals and assisted the other 2. Shayne Diegel, Matthew Hussey and Roman Pritt contributed the other 6 assists and controlled the tempo through the middle. Marton Krajcz and Johann Vasquez who are respectfully battling for 2nd highest goal scorer, both added one a piece today and kept the Railsplitters wondering where the next attack was coming from. When you get a chance to watch Huron play you will notice a couple of guys in the back that each have size, speed, determination and a really nice touch on the ball. Noah Manthei, Mason Jasinski and Jordan Stasak are those guys and are 3 of the top defenders in the area. If they are not winning headers they are creating attacks or going to goal to be the attack. Huron has only given up 4 goals on the season and Ian Ankenbauer was able to record another shutout to boost the State Ranked Chiefs. Everyone that played today was a big contributor. Jayden Choryan controlled the outside and had a few looks in the offensive end while Mason Thomas, Ryan Biller, Ryan Marvaso and Michael Masciovecchio all played tough physical games. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday will see the Chiefs back in action trying to extend their undefeated season.
