The Lady Chiefs traveled to Pine View Golf Course today for the first round of the MHSAA State Tournament.  The Chiefs saw an almost perfect day for golf but found the back 9 a tough task at Pine View.  The Chiefs placed 5th out of 11 teams at the tournament posting a team score of 418.  

The Lady Chiefs were led in scoring by Junior Andie Martin who recovered from a tough back 9 to post an 18 hole score of 96.  Senior Asia Riley continued her very good play shooting a very nice round of 105.  Senior Sophia Straub also continued her very strong play for the season carding a score of 108 and Junior Anna Puschmann battled her way to a nice score of 109.  Senior Jill Chapp was the final Lady Chief in the line-up and posted a score of 118.

The bright spot for the day was Andie Martin.  Andie finished in a 3 way tie for the last individual qualifying spot.  Only 3 individuals can move on to the MHSAA Finals and a playoff was needed to determine that player.  Andie needed only 2 playoff holes to defeat the other 2 players and earn the last spot and a ticket to the Finals.  Congratulations to Andie on you accomplishment and good luck at the MHSAA Finals October 18-19.
