The New Boston Huron Lady Chiefs Golf Team has qualified for the MHSAA State Finals to be played at the MSU Forest Akers West Golf Course on October 19 and 20.  The Lady Chiefs earned their ticket to the Finals by shooting a team score of 398 and finishing in 3rd Place at the MHSAA Regional Tournament today at Pine View Golf Course.  South Lyon finished in 1st place shooting a team score of 366 while Trenton finished in 2nd place posting a team score of 392.  Both teams earned spots in the Finals along with Huron.  

The cold weather, gusty winds and soaking wet course made conditions very tough for the players today.  Scores for the entire field were elevated due to the conditions.  Huron was lead in scoring by Senior Capitan Sylvia Floyd  who carded a 93 finishing just one shot out of the All Region Team.  She was followed by the other Senior Captain Erin Bressler who was able to post a 97.  Senior Averey Potter carded a 101 and Sophomore Andie Martin posted the final score at 107.  Sophomore Anna Puschmann was 10 shots better on the back nine to shoot a 118. 

This is the second time the Lady Chiefs team has qualified in the last 5 years.  The Lady Chiefs will compete in a field of the top 15 teams in Division 2 next weekend to determine the State Champions.  Congratulations to the Lady Chiefs on a great season and a wonderful accomplishment.  There is still a lot of work to do to prepare for next weekend.  Good Luck Lady Chiefs at States!!!!
