The Lady Chiefs Varsity Girls Golf Team took part in the Grosse Ile Invitational today at the West Shore Country Club on Grosse Ile. The Chiefs competed in a very tough 9 team tournament. Detroit Country Day, ranked 8th in the State in Division 3, came away with the win shooting 351. Ann Arbor Pioneer took the Runner-up spot with a 364 and Trenton out shot the Lady Chiefs by 4 shots to take home 3rd place honors posting 380.
The Chiefs posted a team score of 384 good enough for 4th place. Senior Sylvia Floyd continued her very good season leading the Lady Chiefs with 89. This earned her a 6th place overall finish for her effort. Senior Averey Potter continues to play well shooting a very good score of 95. Sophomore Andie Martin followed up with another nice round of 98 an Senior Erin Bressler carded 102 to round out the scores for the Chiefs. Junior Jill Chapp was the final Chiefs player for today's tournament.
In other action today, Huron Girls JV Golf nearly swept their tri-match against Southgate, Wyandotte, and Allen Park, but fell one stroke short, beating Wyandotte and Southgate, and losing to Allen Park.
Sophomore Anna Puschmann, tied for 1st Place Medalist of the meet, paced the Lady Chiefs with a 41 at the Southgate Golf Course. Her chip-in on # 6 helped her shoot low. Hannah Arnett helped with a 44, Sophia Straub added a 48, and Marissa McMullen, in her first match ever, carded a 56.
Great job to both teams for their efforts today. Keep working hard Lady Chiefs!!!
