Huron Cross Country posted faster times at the AA Gabriel Richard Invite, showcasing the team’s new pink-out uniforms. The Chiefs had 23 runners achieve new personal bests and two set season-best times, collectively dropping 12 minutes and 18 seconds.
The Huron Girls team had five runners set new personal bests, finishing thirteen out of nineteen schools. Avery Turk led the way placing 8th (19:54.8), earning a medal among the top 30. Kayla Christesen finished in 36th (21:14.3) out of 138 runners, with Kirsten Perecki 85th (23:13.9 PR), followed closely by Lillian West 89th (23:17.7 PR), Maiya Thomas 107th (24:23.1), Stella Mac placed 110th (24:48.0 PR) with her first sub-25, and Isa Vargo 113th (24:55.8). In the JV race Ryan Cheney 62nd (26:11.5 PR) and Julia Welch 72nd (26:37.0 PR) both achieved personal bests. Falyn Doss made a strong return to competition, executing her race plan to complete the first mile in 6:24.
