Fri. Aug. 23 – Lamplighter Invite @ Ford Field Livonia

The Huron Cross Country teams kicked off their season under the lights at the Lamplighter Invitational on Friday, August 23^rd, setting a promising tone for the year ahead.

The Huron Girls Team showed remarkable improvement, climbing 10 positions from last year to place 8th overall in a competitive field of 29 teams. Falyn Doss led the girls, finishing 8^th with a time of 20:18.2, while Avery Turk was close behind in 9^th place at 20:24.4, with both runners earning medals for their top-20 finishes. Kayla Christesen played a key role placing 51^st (22:22.7) and freshmen Ellia Egle 97^th (23:51.9), Alice Williams 122nd (24:40.7), Isa Vargo 123^rd (24:42.7 PR) and Maiya Thomas 154th (25:35.1) also had strong showings. Kirsten Perecki 172^nd (26:22.0), Stella Mac 190^th (27:22.7), Ryan Cheney 206^th (29:11.8), and Julia Welch 207^th (29:18.6) rounded out the team’s performance.
