Fri. Oct. 16 – Huron League Championship

Huron Cross Country took some time to honor our seniors and their parents at the Huron League Championship Meet. Senior yard signs were displayed coming into the third and final mile for some. Congratulations Class of 2021: Drew Bean, Edison Carlile, Remy Emelian, Will Fritz, Brendan Gyolai, Ayden Roupe, Madison Slane, Avery Schaeffer, Lawrence Stanley, Lake Warden!

In one of the tightest competitions in the women’s division, coming down to ties and one-point advantages throughout the jamborees, Huron tied Riverview in points for second in the final league meet. Overall the Chiefs finished third, only two points away from Grosse Ile and Riverview who tied for first. The women had two runners earn All-League Honors and medals. Breeann Roupe placing 6^th (21:00.6 PR) earned top honors for First Team – All League and Elizabeth Anderson in 10^th (21:26.0)  Second Team – All League. Madelyn Barbour placing 15^th (21:43.5 PR), was one spot away from league honors. Tiffany Burns 22^nd (22:05.7 PR), Maggie Warden 30^th (23:03.6), Cara Bean 42^nd (24:30.7 PR), Madison Slane 44^th (24:35.5 PR). In the JV race, dropping nearly two minutes, Natalie Carlile placed 3^rd (24:56.9 PR), Avery Schaeffer 5^th (25:09.3), Madison Connor 6^th (25:58.1), Emma Randles 23^rd (33:11.4).
