Huron Boys XC Earn Runner-up Trophy at Wayne County Championship

Huron Cross Country ran in a multi-division competition at the Wayne County Championship meet on Saturday with over 40 schools in attendance.

 

The Huron Boys Cross Country team earned a Runner-up trophy once divisions were separated for team awards. Ryan Morris in 29th earned a medal in the top 35 for the multi-divisional competition. Lucas Kuhn in 40th (16:56.3 PR) and Griffin Mentzer in 42nd (16:58.4 PR) set PR’s going sub 17 minutes for the first time in their career. Abdul Ghennewa placed 47th (17:07.3) out of 216 runners, Lucas Dulecki 94th (18:06.5), Samuel Stanley with a PR was 102nd (18:28.8), and Kyle Biller 116th (18:40.8).

 

In the largest race of the day, the JV Boys team had 9 runners’ PR. Evan Banas led the team in 88th (19:24.8) out of 311, Caiden Siggett 108th (19:47.7), Jacob Welch 116th (19:52.9 PR), Roman Whitmore 173rd (21:03.8), Noah Myshock 175th (21:04.4), Lucas Worrell 181st (21:08.3), Austin Shastal 187th (21:13.8), Cole Druyor 207th (21:37.0), Garrett Cheney 213th (21:51.2), Broderick Yensch 214th (21:52.6 PR), Hunter McMahan 223rd (22:03.7 PR), Deegan Richardson 224th (22:04.3 PR), Ben Holbrook 246th (22:38.4 PR), Rocco Sells 251st (22:44.2 PR), Drew Blosser 258th (23:00.6 PR), Nathan Zakar 272nd (23:29.4), Cameron Stewart 274th (23:32.1 PR), Hunter Szawara 287th (24:14.4), Jack Fisher 292nd (24:37.6 PR).
