It was a tough night for us this evening. Story of our season has been our ability to take care of the basketball and limit our turnovers. It has been a work in progress but a short coming none the less. Tonight, however, it was not our Achilles heel. We actually had the lowest turnovers of the season. Unfortunately we could not capitalize though. We lost the first quarter 14-9 and we should not have. We had multiple, open looks inside the paint, and even a couple layups that we just could not finish. Thomas lead us with 5 in the quarter. Balasz added 4.

The second quarter was not much better shooting percentage wise. Again, worked the ball around and had some solid looks. But we have a hard time finishing. It has been an issue all year and although it is something we are working on, it plagues us game in and game out. On top of that, with our low shooting percentage from the field, we were up against a team that was a powerhouse in rebounding. They dominated us with their efforts on the boards. Our rebounding KILLED us this evening. SMCC was able to score 13 this quarter and much of that was off second chance points. You just can not let that happen. When good D leads to misques or poor shots, you must be able to keep their second chance opportunities away; and we just did not. 

HALF TIME SCORE: HURON 16.  SMCC 27

The second half went much the same as the first. Good shot opportunities but did not get much to fall. Followed up with good D but poor rebounding. Callahan found her bearings a bit this half, leading us with 8 this half. Pritt had a 3 but that was all the scoring we could muster. The final score would end up
