What a game played this evening. Although Huron took the loss, they took the game to double over time and gave their best efforts. 

It was a tough loss considering how hard and well we played together. We only had 7 kids on the night as we are struggling to get over a major illness that has held some kids out from todays contest. 

With that, I was very impressed by our resiliency and ability to over come some major adversity. Jill Umin and Courtney Balasz had to step up and lead from the top. Both took advantage of the opportunity. Balasz had a terrific game scoring 10 on the night. She had 4 points that came late in the 4th quarter that were critical to the comeback to get to overtime. Umin had two big threes on the night and when we needed the game slowed down or sped up, she did so. I think the biggest contributions was from Anna Atherton. The kid can play and she stepped up huge this evening. She was able to get to the free throw line and hit 4 of 5 there, and added 3 baskets on top of that. I was really impressed with what she did this evening. Emily Egler also had a stellar night. She had two BIG three pointers and a basket that kept us in the game. Both her and Atherton have pure shots and their presence will be felt as they continue their career. Natalie Smith added a basket and Marissa Smith gave 3 to the night. She was at the line with 7 seconds left on the clock and hit the first free throw to tie the game. 

We took the game to a first overtime and took into a second but it was a long game to play with 7 kids. They left everything they had out there. Very proud of what they gave this evening.
