Tough game for the Lady Chiefs tonight. Felt that the level of intensity showed was present from tip off to games end. I was very pleased with how we played most of our defensive sets. The kids worked hard and together for the majority of the day. We had a couple key rotations that got away from us. Those lead to easy baskets for Riverview, which is hard to recover from, but up until the end we were able to. The game was 11-11 at the end of the first quarter. 26-22 at the half. We came out ready to go though the third quarter. At one point we took the lead and it looked like we had a better control of the game. But too many turnovers again, and the lead dwindled. The score was 36-35 Riverview at the end of the third. Dimilia really took conrol in the third quarter. 7 of her 17 points came in the third. Thomas had some huge defensive steals on the night, but the fourth quarter we just couldnt seal the deal. We kept it with in up until 3 minutes left. Riverview hit a huge bucket to make the lead 3, and we just couldnt recover. The final score 51-43 Riverview. All said and done these kids worked extremely hard. A lot of really good things happened because of their intensity. Better control of the basketball and protecting our possessions will lead to a lot more success.
