It was a good game played by Huron tonight. We started the game off strong, executed offensively and came up with some big defensive stops. Leading the way scoring was Ava Dimilia with 17 Points. Behind her was Marissa Smith with 8. Stand outs on defense were Marissa Smith who took 2 charges on the day, resulting in two big take aways. Pressure by the guards, Courtney Balasz, Caroline Polites, and Lexi Thomas resulted in multiple steals and transition scores. Balasz had 2 points and Thomas scored 4. Faith Callahan played well down low adding 3 points to the mix, while Madison Campbell also added 3. Sam Belair and Laila Castillo also brought a basket of their own to the table, helping add to the lead in the 2nd quarter. Jill Umin did a great job defensively coming up with some key stops and added great ball rotation that set up nice baskets. Game play from Anna Antherton was also big, as she made some great baseline stops that resulted in turn overs. The game was played top to bottom as a whole team effort resulting in a 45-37 win for the Lady Cheifs.
