Junior Forward Ethan Woolery scored a game high 18 points to pace Huron to a much needed win as the Chiefs outlasted Grosse Ile 45-36 on Tuesday night. The first quarter ended in a 10-10 tie and both teams traded baskets as the score reached 14-14 in the 2nd quarter but then Woolery hit a 3 point shot and another 2nd pointer to help Huron to a 9-0 run which gave the Chiefs a 23-17 lead at the half. Grosse ile kept switching their defenses in the 3rd quarter we didn't respond very well and couldn't get any offensive rhythm going. But in the 4th quarter Ethan gave us some breathing room by scoring 9 of our 16 points and we made just enough free throws and Senior Cole Grunwald came up with timely steals to clinch the win. Huron welcomes Livonia Clarenceville next Monday night.
