AIRPORT HIGH SCHOOL: 61
Adam Goins and Cole McBeath combined for 43 points as Airport, down two points to start the 4th quarter, defeated Huron Tuesday night 61-55. The guard tandem scored 18 of Airports 21 points in the 4th to secure a back and forth contest in which no team had a lead bigger than 6 points. We just didn't have an answer for those two all night long. They scored around the perimeter, and beat us off the dribble, and shot 22 free throws. Brandon McComas chipped in with 11 for the Jets. Huron put three players in double figures, Sophomore Guard Micah Smith had another good game for the Chiefs scoring 17, Junior Ethan Woolery chipped in with 13 and Cole Grunwald had 12 points all on 3 point baskets. Huron travels to Milan Friday night, Airport evens their record at 8-8 and entertains Concord on Wednesday night.
