The Huron Chiefs traveled to SMCC Friday night and lost their 7th straight game in a heartbreaker 57-55. Huron ran a baseline play with 8.9 seconds remaining only to have the ball knocked away to end the game. The Falcons trailed 13-10 after the 1st quarter but were in front 29-26 at the half. Stone Osborne scored 10 of his game high 13 points in the 2nd quarter to pace SMCC. The Falcons stretched their lead to nine by the end of the 3rd quarter, 51-42. But, Huron mounted a comeback in the 4th holding SMCC to only 6 points in the final quarter. Center Rory Callahan scored 7 points in the 4th quarter to rally the Chiefs back within a bucket. SMCC put two other players in double figures; Senior Center Cyrus Marks scored 13 and Junior Guard Michael Laboe added 10. Senior Ethan Barno only scored 7, but it was his relentless offensive rebounded that continually gave the Falcons extra possessions.
