FLAT ROCK COMMUNITY HIGH SCHOOL: 45
The Huron Chiefs rebounded from a disappointing loss to SMCC on Friday night to claim their first win of the season by hanging on to beat the Flat Rock Rams 54-45. Junior point guard Issac Smith scored 16 of his 17 points in the 2nd half to pace the Chiefs. Huron led 25-18 at the half but a basket late in the 3rd quarter cut the lead to 35-31 before Smith completed a 3 point play to push the lead back to 7. "I was never comfortable at any time during the game with the lead because Flat Rock is well coached by Rick Smith," said Huron Coach Bob Blosser. Senior forward Chase Molnar scored 14 points, added 6 assists and 2 steals. The Rams were paced by Freshman Center Alex Gillium who scored 19. Flat Rock won the Junior Varsity game 50-42. Gavin Moczydlowsky paced the Chiefs with 10 points-there was no Freshman game.
