AIRPORT HIGH SCHOOL: 41
The Huron Chiefs survived a extremely hard fought game and beat the Airport Jets 46-41. Huron played strong defensively in the first quarter and held Airport to only three points-and pushed their lead to 17-5 into the second quarter only to have the Jets close with a 9-0 run to trail the Chiefs 17-14 at the half. Airport cut the lead to 36-34 early in the fourth quarter but Phil Martin hit three of his four 3's in the fourth to hold off the Jets. Vinnie Wroblewski lead Huron with 18 points, and 8 rebounds. Phil Martin had a fine all around game with 16 points, 7 rebounds 3 assists, and 3 steals. Karter Fitzpatrick scored 16 for Airport and Benjamin Phillips added 13. Huron won the JV game 48-43 Troy Blosser had a career high 22 points.
