Sat. Sept. 7 – Averill Invitational @ Kensington Metropark Huron Cross Country took on their most challenging course of the season at Kensington Metropark. The Huron Girls Cross Country team narrowly missed out on a team trophy, finishing 4th out of 17 schools in the Silver Division. The Chiefs had three runners in the top ten, with Avery Turk leading the team in 4th place (21:21.0), Falyn Doss finishing 8th (22:14.2), and Kayla Christesen placing 9th (22:15.6 PR), all earning medals. Sat. Sept. 7 – Averill Invitational @ Kensington Metropark Huron Cross Country took on their most challenging course of the season at Kensington Metropark. The Huron Boys team chose to sacrifice a potential championship in the Silver Division to compete against tougher Division 1 schools in the Gold Division, focusing on preparing for the later stages of the season. The Chiefs split their squad between the two divisions, with seven runners placing 6th overall out of 18 teams in the Gold Division. Lucas Kuhn led the way with a 7th place finish (16:57.6), followed by Luke Dulecki in 23rd (17:38.7), earning medals for finishing in the top 35. Kyle Biller came in at 56th (18:33.1) out of 188 runners, with Cameron Crane 64th (18:43.8), Tanner Kuhn 83rd (19:13.8), Louie Macon 112th (20:02.1), and Lucas Worrell in 154th (21:13.3). In the Silver Division, Huron placed 10th out of 24 teams, with eight runners achieving personal records on the demanding course.
