Sat. Oct. 27 – MHSAA Region 18-2

In the Regional Meet at Lake Erie Metropark, the Huron Cross Country teams continued their rise this season despite the slow, muddy course conditions.

The Chiefs improved their finish as a team by moving up three positions from the previous year to place 6^th out of 16 teams. Ayden Roupe finished in 23^rd (17:56.1) out of 109 runners, Adam Mentzer 24^th (17:58.4), Drew Bean 25^th (17:59.3), Gabe Welch 44^th (18:34.6), Brendan Gyolai 54^th (18:55.9), Austin Fritz 69^th (19:17.7).

The JV Boys team placed 10^th out of 19 teams with 269 points. Lawrence Stanley placed 53^rd (19:39.9) out of 232 runners, Remy Emelian 54^th (19:40.2), Domenic DiMambro 60^th (19:44.4), Lake Warden 105^th (20:40.2), Kyle Meeker 119^th (20:54.6), Owen Lazenby 120^th (20:56.0), Ayden Mendez 125^th (21:07.6), Kyle Murney 137^th (21:25.0), Edison Carlile 140^th (21:26.8), Caleb Ferguson 148^th (21:43.3), Miles Fichtner 161^st (22:05.3), Keegan Ehrman 164^th (22:12.6), Kade Tenaglia 188^th (23:17.9), Jamison Gambino 196^th (23:35.8), Antonio Chambers 196^th (23:37.5), Jacob Lerette 203^rd (24:03.7), Ben Oaks 213^th (24:47.6), Charlie Hoke 229^th (32:19.7).

The Lady Chiefs advanced four positions from the previous year to place 8^th out of 13 teams and just missed edging out Airport in 7^th by 2 points. Natalie Marek placed 32^nd (21:27.4) out of 90 runners, Abbey Biundo 39^th (21:50.4), Ashley Christesen 42^nd (21:55.6), Ellie Fichtner 59^th (22:57.9), Jordan Roberts 66^th (23:30.1), Miranda Marek 82^nd (25:14.6), Julia Wilkinson 83^rd (25:28.2).

In the JV race, Caitlin Roupe placed 57^th (24:07.4) out of 145 runners, Kyndy Bennett 70^th (24:40.6) and Nevada Castillo 73^rd (24:47.0).
