At the 50th Annual Huron Invitational, the Chiefs raced HARDCORE! The Huron Boys Varsity Cross Country team for the first time in at least a decade were crowned the Huron Invitational Champions scoring 34 points. The Huron Girls are on the rise and had a strong 3rd Place finish with 99 points also receiving a trophy.

Huron’s top seven boys earned medals lead by Ayden Roupe finishing 3rd (17:13.9 PR) overall out of 114, followed by Adam Mentzer 11th (17:57.1), Drew Bean 12th (18:05.6 PR) Gabe Welch 16th (18:17.6 PR), Brenda Gyolai 25th (18:44.7 PR), Austin Fritz 33rd (19:02.8), Sean Morris 35th (19:04.1). Remy Emelian narrowly missed a medal placing 36th (19:06.3 PR), Grant Wilkinson 52nd (19:33.3), Lawrence Stanley 77th (21:19.1). The JV boys placed 6th out of 13 teams and set five new personal records for the day. Nathan Holder 60th (20:29.4) out of 245, Kyle Meeker 77th (21:04.6), Keegan Erhman 82nd (21:16.8), Edison Carlile 84th (21:18.7 PR), Jacob Lerette 93rd (21:32.3), Lake Warden 103rd (21:44.7), Erie Thomas 111th (21:49.3), Owen Lazenby 112th (21:49.4 PR), Caleb Ferguson 118th (21:57.0 PR), Antonio Chambers 122nd (22:07.0), Ayden Mendez 126th (22:17.4), Kyle Murney 132nd (22:25.1), Miles Fichtner 140th (22:35.7 PR), Jamison Gambino 173rd (23:53.0 PR), Jacob Merideth 188th (24:38.6), Charlie Hoke 241st (33:07.0).

The Lady Chiefs had five runners medal and four personal records were set. In the top spot, Natalie Marek placed 11th (21:44.5 PR) out of 86 runners, Ashely Christesen 29th (23:07.7 PR), Ellie Fichtner 30th (23:16.5), and Abby Biundo 31st (23:18.6) rounding out our medal winners. Olivia Randles 39th (23:59.1), Miranda Marek 49th (25:03.1), Nevada Castillo 54th (25:25.9 PR), Kyndy Bennett 57th (25:49.4 PR), Julia Wilkinson 67th (26:57.2), Caitlin Roupe 77th (28:34.7). In the JV girls race, Jordan Roberts had a strong time in her first race of the season placing 24th (25:11.1) out of 147 runners. Emily Saksewski (25:57* 3-mile time).
