Tues. Sept. 4 – Erie-Mason “Frank Connolly” Relays

The Huron Boys Cross Country team moved up three spots from last year, placing 3^rd out of 8 teams at the Erie-Mason “Frank Connolly” Relays. This is a six-mile two-person relay with each runner alternating running a mile three times. Adam Mentzer and Ayden Roupe were partners again this year and improved from their 26^th place finish last year to place 4^th overall (33:22.85) out of 104 teams earning a medal. The boys had four additional relay teams place in the top 40 earning medals as well: Gabe Welch and Sean Morris 14^th (34.58.27), Brendan Gyolai and Austin Fritz 25^th (36:38.29), Remy Emelian and Domenic DiMambro 31^st (37:35.95), Nathan Holder and Grant Wilkinson 38^th (38:39.98). Lawrence Stanley and Edison Carlile 52^nd (40:31.89), Keegan Erhman and Erie Thomas 71^st (42:28.36), Kyle Meeker and Lake Warden 73^rd (43:42.09), Miles Fichtner and Antonio Chambers 79^th (45:45.91), Jacob Lerette and Kyle Murney 80^th (45:46.60), Ayden Mendez and Owen Lazenby 81^st (46:11.69), Ben Oaks and Jacob Merideth 93^rd (49:21.8), Kaden Tenaglia and Jamison Gambino 94^th (50:04.7), Jack Doxey and Caleb Ferguson 97^th (50:41.3), Charlie Hoke (32:06* individual 3mile time).

The girls team moved up in rankings as well placing 6^th out of 7 teams. Two of our relay teams placed in the top 40 and earned medals: Natalie Marek and Abbey Biundo 17^th (42:23.49), Ellie Fichtner and Ashley Christesen 22^nd (43:14.33). Avery Schaeffer and Olivia Randles placed 41^st (48:04.34) out of 77 just missing a medal by one spot, Chelsea Emond and Kyndy Bennett 45^th (49:12.98), Nevada Castillo and Miranda Marek 50^th (49:55.95), Julia Wilkinson and Caitlin Roupe 61^st (51:57.31), Haley Hall and Jordan Roberts 67^th (53:40.26).
