Huron Varsity Chiefs took Monday's game in dramatic fashion, with a 4-3 walk-off victory over St. Mary Catholic Central Varsity Kestrels. Huron Varsity Chiefs were down 3-2 in the bottom of the seventh inning when Maya Martindale singled, scoring two runs.
A single by Olivia Piepsney put St. Mary Catholic Central Varsity Kestrels on the board in the top of the first.
Corrine Gietzen homered to left field on a 3-0 count, which helped Huron Varsity Chiefs tie the game at one in the bottom of the fourth.
St. Mary Catholic Central Varsity Kestrels took the lead in the top of the fifth. Camryn Gee homered to center field, scoring two runs, to give St. Mary Catholic Central Varsity Kestrels the advantage, 3-1.
Huron Varsity Chiefs jumped into the lead in the bottom of the seventh when Makynze O’Dell drew a walk, scoring one run, and Martindale singled, scoring two runs.
