Huron Varsity Chiefs Defeat Jefferson Varsity Bears Behind Strong Performance From Rylie Greggo

Rylie Greggo struck out 11 batters as the pitcher led Huron Varsity Chiefs past Jefferson Varsity Bears 7-0 on Wednesday. Greggo allowed two hits and zero runs over seven innings while walking one.

A single by Greggo put Huron Varsity Chiefs on the board in the bottom of the first.

Huron Varsity Chiefs added one run in the second. Maya Martindale singled down the right field line, making the score 2-0.

Huron Varsity Chiefs added to their early lead in the bottom of the third inning after Maria Robbins singled, and Greggo doubled down the left field line, each scoring one run.

Ava Russo hit a solo home run, her first career home run to left field in the bottom of the fourth for the Huron Varsity Chiefs.

Emily Grube started in the circle for Jefferson Varsity Bears. The starter surrendered nine hits and seven runs (four earned) over six innings, striking out three and walking four.

Martindale and Greggo each collected two hits for Huron Varsity Chiefs. Greggo and Robbins each drove in two runs for Huron Varsity Chiefs.

Molly Hayford and Alivia LeBrun each collected one hit for Jefferson Varsity Bears.
