"Two great teams matched up for a great game of softball. Both teams have top notch pitching and stellar defense. Unfortunately for the Lady Chiefs, Flat Rock had a little bit better defense and a couple more hits at key times. We started off with the lead and put together a nice inning. With a runner on second, Callahan put one off the fence. She hits that out and it changes the dynamic of the game, but none the less, it was a great at  bat to give us the go ahead. We just couldn't come up with some key defensive plays that we needed and Flat Rock chipped away at the lead. They did a really nice job putting the ball in play. Gracie Brinkerhoff had 7 k's on the day, and pitched very well, but they made every at bat difficult. That was a great job on their end. I thought we held strong, and had a nice opportunity in the 6th. Callahan had a chance with two runners on. She put the ball in play they just made the catch. We played them well. They definitely were the better team today but I think we held our own and showed a lot of grit.

Caroline Polites 1-3

Faith Callaha 1-3

Madison Campbell 1-3

Anna Atherton 1-3
