Marissa Smith took control in the 5th inning. She really stepped up and attacked the ball early. She went after that first pitch hard and put it right over center field fence. That kind of busted the game open from there. The kids played excellent defense and made the plays they needed to. Huge win for Leah Stacy. Getting her first Varsity carrer win!!!! She pitched lights out. Hit her spots nicely and kept control over the plate getting ahead of the count early. It was fun watching her perform. I thought Caroline Polites did a great job behind the plate guiding her. Her first full apperance back there and she really took on some key leadership qualities.
Great game from the Huron Lady Chiefs
