The Huron Chiefs take home the District Championship trophy Saturday afternoon by taking down Gabriel Richard by a score of 6-2
In the second inning, the Chiefs got their offense started when Cole Grunwald hit a sharp singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run.
Huron also scored four runs in the sixth inning. Shane Campbell came up big with a pinch hit single scoring a run and Ethan Webb added a long 3 run blast over the left field wall to seal the win for Huron.
Chase Molnar pitched a gem to earn the win for the Chiefs. The righty went six and a third innings, allowing two runs on ten hits and striking out five. Thomas McSwain threw two-thirds of an inning in relief out of the bullpen to record the save for Huron.
Huron racked up ten hits in the game. Webb, Morse and Grunwald all collected multiple hits for the Chiefs.
