Huron drops a close match to SMCC 2-1

The Chiefs hosted an undefeated SMCC squad looking to end their winless streak but came up short in a well fought, 2-1 contest. The Chiefs and Kestrels battled for a scoreless 50 minutes before and SMCC player got by the Huron defense and fired a ball into the corner of the net. The Kestrels took a 2-0 lead midway through the second half. The Chiefs kept battling and drew within 0ne as a Joanna Menzter free kick was slighty redirected and found the back of the net. The Chiefs battled hard the rest of the game, but failed to score the equalizer. The Chiefs finish the regula season 14-4-1 and 10-3-1 in the HUron League. Bella Eliott and Joanna Mentzer played well in the defense.
