The Renton Jr High Track teams competed at the SE Michigan Showcase on Friday, May 10th. Undeterred by being down significant numbers due to the NJHS Chicago Trip, the teams had several top 3 performances and brought home a total of 15 medals.
The Renton Jr High girls team finished in 11th place out of 19 teams with 548 points. The girls brought home 5 individual medals, including Jordan Hickey’s first-place finish in the long jump and Addison Dolencic’s 3rd place school record-setting 200M hurdles finish and the ladies also had 2 relays medal.
The Renton Jr High Boys Track team with a score of 424 points finished in 12th place out of 19 teams. In the sprints, Xander Scannell finished in the top three for the 100M dash and 7th in the 200M dash, earning medals for both performances.
Collectively as a school, Renton placed 12th out of 19 schools with a combined team score of 972 points.

Metro Classic – Madera Middle School Elite Mile 5/11/19
Renton Jr High Track had five distance runners qualify and selected for the Metro Classic Elite Middle School Mile run on Saturday, May 11th during the high school invitational. In the girls’ race, Maggie Warden placed 6th and Leah Emch 7th and in the boys’ competition Ryan Morris placed 8th. Breeann Roupe and Brady Fleszar also qualified but were unable to participate due to the NJHS Chicago Trip. Congratulations runners for being selected for this very special event!
