In the season opener, the Chiefs pulled off the 1st game of the double header with a walk-off mercy 13-3 over Wyandotte. Kyle Kubik earned the victory taking over a bases-loaded situation in the second inning. He struck out 5 batters over 3 innings and allowed no runs.
Contributing to the offense were Shane Mitchell who collected a single and a double and a walk and 1 RBI. Ayden Hosfelt also had two hits and collected 2 RBI. Centerfielder Matthew WIlliams also collected a single and a double and had a RBI. Briar Vendlands had a big double in the 1st and plated two runners to get things going for the Chiefs. Helping on the offensive side was Jordan Schiller with a hit and RBI and Brock Derwoed who had a great safety squeeze bunt to plate a run.
